Central Park

Central Park stretches 3 avenues wide from 59th street all the way up to 110th street. The park offers plenty of activities for all seasons: From April through November, one can row boats under Row Bridge on Central Park’s second largest water body. Rent your row boats or gondolas tours at the Loeb Boathouse anytime between 10 am until dusk. Boats -- which hold up to 4 people -- are $15 per hour (cash only), $4 for each additional 15min with a $20 cash deposit. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Additionally, classic Venetian gondola tours can be reserved for $45 per half hour. The boats hold up to 6 people. Enter the park on 72nd and 5th and follow the path to the boathouse.

One can also enjoy a relaxing picnic on The Great Lawn, located mid-park between 79th and 85th street or on the steps at the Bethesda Terrace, located mid-park on 72nd street.

If you’re looking to go on a run, the Jacqueline Kennedy reservoir has a 1.58 mile running path with a beautiful view of the water and NYC’s cityscapes, located between 86th and 96th street and 5th. Another running option is the wide, most flat, dirt Bridle Path, which circles just below the reservoir’s main path. Start your run by entering the park on 90th street and 5th avenue, which will put you right on the path for a 2.5 mile run.

From visiting a tropical rainforest with rare birds to an icy antarctic to view penguins, Central Park Zoo offers a wide range of activities and events to interact with animals. It's a great place to visit with kids, as well as a fun experience for adults. Total experience tickets (which includes the main zoo, Tisch Children Zoo, and 1 entry to the 4-D theater) are $18 for ages 13+, $13 for ages 3yrs - 12yrs , $15 for 65+ , and free for ages 2 and under.
