Through its exhibits and events, The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The MET) explores all cultures through 5,000 years of artwork. The museum is sectioned into 3 sites: The MET Fifth Avenue, The MET Breuer, and The MET Cloisters. Each month, The MET offers hundreds of events and programs through lectures, films, tours, performances, family activities etc. The MET is one of the most visited museums in the world, and the largest museum in the United States. From European paintings, sculptures and drawings to armor and weapons from Europe, the Middle East, Asia and America, the MET Fifth Avenue introduces an abundance of art in 17 curatorial departments.General admission is $25 for adults, $17 for seniors, $12 for students, and free for children under 12 (accompanied by an adult), Members, and Patrons. Tickets include all exhibitions and are valid for three consecutive days at any of the 3 MET sites. Tickets can be bought online or at the museum. The entrance is on 86th street and 5th avenue, a 20min walk or 10 min car ride from the Lowell Hotel.
